Liverpool player signing 21/22
Ibrahima konate (signing)
Ibrahima Konate joins Liverpool for £36m from RB Leipzig; the 22-year-old French centre-back was an unused substitute in both matches when the two sides met in the Champions League earlier this year. Konate, 22, made 21 appearances for Leipzig this season including eight Bundesliga starts as the club finished second, 13 points behind champions Bayern Munich.
He will begin a long-term contract from July 1, subject to international clearance and a successful work permit application process.
It was no secret Liverpool would be signing a new centre-back this summer after the defensive injury crisis which derailed their Premier League title defence last season.
Long-term knee injuries to first-choice central defenders Van Dijk and Gomez in October and November 2020 respectively meant Klopp was forced to use an incredible 16 different centre-back parings in the previous top-flight campaign.

Manchester united player signing 2021/22
Jadon sancho (signing)
From; Borussia Dortmund
Tom heaton (free transfer)
Tom Heaton has become Manchester United's first signing of the summer, signing a two-year contract.
Heaton, 35, started his career in the United academy and left permanently in 2012 but has re-signed for the club following his release by Aston Villa.
United have already agreed to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £72.9million but Heaton is their first official addition of the summer.
"For me to have the opportunity to come back after spending 13 great years here as a kid, it’s an incredible feeling and I’m really, really excited to get started,"
Indeed, the 35-year-old will likely join the club as a backup option and the report states that he will provide competition for David De Gea and Dean Henderson amidst their battle for the number one spot.
Sam Johnstone, another former academy graduate, was also linked with a move back to the Theatre of Dreams though it appears Heaton will be the man trusted to act as cover.

Manchester city player signing 2021/22
Scott carson (free transfer)
Manchester City are set to snap up Scott Carson on a free transfer after the goalkeeper was released by Derby County.
Carson, 35, has spent the last two years on loan at the Etihad from the Championship club and has become an invaluable member of the squad. Pep Guardiola likened him to a captain of the dressing room last season and gave him his first Premier League start in 10 years in the match at Newcastle immediately after the Blues had been confirmed as champions.
"Maybe people don't know it but he's a real leader for us," said Guardiola.
"He says straight away what he believes, he has a lot of experience, he has been in incredible locker rooms with big teams. "He is an incredible person and we are delighted - not just me but Eddy (Ederson)and Zack [Steffen] and the players that today he could play."
The 35-year-old joined in 2019, initially on a one-year loan deal from Derby County.
That agreement was then extended for a further 12 months last summer, and he went on to make his City debut in a 4-3 win away at Newcastle in May.
With his contract at Derby now expired, he has signed for City on a free transfer.
Capped four times by England, Carson boasts a wealth of experience from his 17-year career and counts West Bromwich Albion, Liverpool and Turkish outfit Bursaspor amongst his former teams.
Before joining City on loan, the Whitehaven-born keeper had spent the previous four seasons at Pride Park where he made more than 150 appearances for the Rams.
“It’s a pleasure and a privilege to be part of the setup here at City,” Carson said.
“To be around Pep and his backroom staff is fantastic and I feel I have learnt so much since I joined in 2019.
“The lads made me feel at home straight away and I have loved every second of my two years here.
“To commit for another year was such an easy decision. I want to continue pushing the other goalkeepers we have here and I want to make sure my experience rubs off on them.”
